A lighthearted board game for two to four players.
Gardening experts and budding designers can compete equally at living the life of a Chelsea Gardener, from sowing the first seed of inspiration to planting in a show garden at Chelsea. Based on the world famous Chelsea Flower Show this board game captures the excitement of the build-up to the show itself as players race to win the coveted Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal.
There are three stages to playing the game which involve:
- Inspiration and education: Visiting the four RHS Gardens - RHS Garden Wisley, RHS Garden Rosemoor, RHS Garden Harlow Carr and RHS Garden Hyde Hall; Visiting two RHS flower shows - Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park; Gathering research and attending lectures; Collecting Inspiration Tokens enabling the player to move on to the next stage.
- Design and Development: Developing a design, discussions with designers and gardeners; Sourcing plants and collecting the Garden Elements required for the next stage; Gaining Sponsorship Funding and RHS Allocations of Space
- Garden Build: Entering Chelsea; Getting Garden Elements delivered, installed and planted; Contending with weather, contractors, plant and site problems; Preparing for royal visits, press day and judges;The race for medals
Just in case battling against the weather, difficult sponsors, and hungry slugs isn't challenge enough for our novice Chelsea Gardeners, we have one last and irritiating hazard - the innocent garden gnome ... will you GIVE THE GNOME A HOME?
This entertaining and attractive game for gardeners contains a high quality playing board and pieces (the Chelsea Gardeners and the gnome are stone-and-resin), contained in a large, attractive box (approx 26x26x10cm).
